I love tea, especially green tea. Many of you may know that green tea is good for you. Green tea extract is approximately twice more antioxidant-active than vitamin c (I got this info from Wikipedia Green tea extract) If you like green tea, have you heard of matcha? Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea. Matcha is getting popular in NYC! I'm so happy that many New Yorkers are getting to know and like good Japanese things. You can buy matcha from special super markets and try to make matcha at home. But, you should know what real matcha is like before you make it. Today, I would like to introduce my favorite matcha cafe, Wabi. Wabi is located in our lovely community in The East Village. They opened the end of last year. You can try many different kind of drinks using matcha. They also sell home made Japanese sweets using matcha such as matcha madeleine! When I visited them, I asked the super friendly staff Yuji and Ayaka which drink will be good for a hot summer day. They recommended the ice matcha cafe latte. It is matcha and coffee. It sound's and looks great. I really like this little matcha cafe Wabi in The East Village! I asked Ayaka about her favorite spots in The East Village. The answers are blow this page (after Japanese writing) You may find a new spot in The East village.
